City/State of Birth: Aspen, Colorado

Current Residence: Durango, Colorado

Olympics and Events Attended:
2006 Olympics, Torino, Italy ~ Snowboardcross

Brief Biography:
Smith credits his older brother Eric for starting him snowboarding at the age of seven. He had two top 10 finishes at the 2005 World Cup, finished 4th at the 2005 X games and 2nd at the 2005 Gravity Games. Because he formerly did motorcross, SBX was a perfect fit for Smith with his love of speed and head to head competition. He earned a spot on the U.S. Snowboarding team in 2003.

Smith collects belt buckles and enjoys surfing, camping, skateboarding and riding bikes in his spare time. He says he only lived in Steamboat a year but would love to come back. "Steamboat has a community that supports its athletes and is a fun place to live in the winter and summer."
